Jack showed up roughly around the place that Scotty had described meeting him, excited to finally be off the Academy satellite for the first time in a while. As such, he didn't really get to wear anything other than his uniform, which is why the only clothes he had were from the Boeshane Peninsula, where he'd grown up. Not exactly pulling clothes, but he was comfortable, in his loose cotton shirt and vest, pleased that they accentuated how fit he was. And alright, his pants and boots were definitely desert wear, but he'd grown up living in the sand, so his attire was definitely excusable.

When he spied Jack, Scotty grinned and waved him over, before half-jogging to meet him halfway. "Alright?" he greeted the other man, before stepping back to give his outfit a look-over. "Y'know, good thing about you comin' here, can't imagine we'll need much of a cover story for you. 'Specially not with this bein' 'fleet headquarters. We get all sorts, y'know. Fit right in, you do." He grinned again, gesturing over his shoulder. "Drinks're on me tonight. Don't know what you use back where you're from, but I bet we don't take it 'roud here."

Jack raised an eyebrow at the 'fit right in' comment, but he decided against saying anything about it. Especially when he thought about how far back in time he was at that moment. "You're probably right about that one. What year is it here now, anyway? If this is Earth, then we're not even from the same area of the galaxy, let alone the same planet, so. Sorry, no credits on my, certainly not the kind you'd use. I can definitely pay you back however you see fit, though," he said, with a grin.

"Twenty-two forty-three, an' aye, it's Earth. Like I said. Drinks're on me." He paused, and then grinned, and added, "Well. Hopefully not on me. Be a bit messy, that. C'mon." He beckoned for Jack to follow him and started off across the quad, making sure not to get too far ahead. "Hope y'don't mind walkin'. S'not far."

Jack shook his head with a grin. "No, I don't mind walking. Shouldn't. It's nice to be planetside, for once. You know, with...real air, and real...real Earth people," he said, gleefully. "Y'know what? Before I joined the Agency, I never would've thought that I'd even get to meet any real, full-blooded human." He winked at Scotty. "You're one of a kind, my friend. Actually, speaking of..." He laughed, broadly. "What's your name again?"

"Scott. Scotty, if you feel like bein' friendly." He glanced over at Jack, tucking his hands in his pockets, and after a moment, turned his eyes upward. The lights in the city made it a bit difficult to see the stars, but here and there were a few bright enough to be seen. "All human, that's me. Earth's pretty full of us lot. Hardly one of a kind, me, not 'round here, anyway."

Jack waggled an eyebrow. "Scotty," he said, with a wicked grin, "I always feel like being friendly." He chuckled. "And if you are all full blooded humans here, then I guess I'm one of a kind. Which is kind of cool, really," Jack said, happily. "Not only do I have special traits, but I've got all you charming full bloods around to have my way with as well."

"Aye, well. You an' your special traits can just stick close t'me, yeah? Unless you'd rather go without drinks 'cause you haven't got any money." It was a few moments after that before it occurred to Scotty to ask the obvious question. "What sort o' special traits're we talkin' here?"

Jack smirked at Scotty. "Don't worry, my friend. I'm all for sticking with you. The drinks are only an added bonus to the company," he said, with a wink. Which was...semi true. Although he really was looking forward to the drinking.

At Scotty's question, Jack smiled, stepping forward closer to the other man. "D'you smell that?" he asked, making sure that the other man was close enough to catch a whiff of the rather pleasant, musky, masculine smell that he had about him, on his clothes, on his skin, everywhere.

"Bit difficult t'miss, yeah," Scotty answered, stepping a bit closer to Jack in return. "What is it, then?"

Jack chuckled at the other man stepping closer. "Smells good, doesn't it?" he said, with confidence, but managing not to be cocky at the same time. "That's all me. 51st century pheromones," he explained, proudly, with a broad grin. "You people have no idea..."

"Fifty-first?" Scotty just shook his head. Fifty-first century. If it weren't for the community, he'd hardly believe it. "Pheromones, huh? You haven't got any Orion in your ancestry, have you?"

Jack looks at the other man curiously. "Orion?" he asks. "What's that? Never heard of 'em before." He smiled broadly. "Let's just put it this way. Humans like..." he fished around for the right word, so he wasn't being overtly vulgar right off the bat.

"Humans like to 'dance', right? And there are a lot of different lifeforms out there to dance with. Where I come from, everyone's at least a little bit something or other. I just got lucky, that I've got pheromones and not...I don't know, tentacles?" He grinned. "Although, those are nice too, under the right circumstances."

"Not many Orions 'round here. They're not part o' the Federation. But it's said that no man can resist them. Pheromones an' that, yeah?" He shrugged, letting Jack continue before replying.

"So... let me get this straight. Where you're from, humans are genetically compatible enough t'be part... whatever? I mean, there's some hybrids here, but it's rare. Genetics, right?" Another pause, a bit thoughtful this time. "Can't say I've ever hooked up with anyone with tentacles."

Jack laughed. "Well, I wouldn't say that I'm that good. Believe it or not, I have been turned down before," he said with a grin.

"And that's right! Genetically compatible enough, anyway. Science does a lot of the rest. Just about everyone out there is some part something or other, and people do enough dancing with other people, no one's really sure part what anymore. It's more rare not to be part alien than to be, really."

At the tentacles line, Jack reached out and clapped Scotty on the shoulder. "Oh, Scotty, they you are missing out, my friend. There's a whole new list of things you can do, with someone like that."

Scotty just laughed, when Jack told him he was missing out. "I can only imagine," he said after a moment, shaking his head again. Had he been at the proper point in his own timeline, it was entirely possible that he'd skip over the conversation about tentacles altogether and focus more on the apparent differences in genetic compatibility between aliens and humans, but currently, obviously the tentacles were the most important part of the conversation.

Jack wasn't going to go on much more about the tentacles, unfortunately. There really wasn't much else to say. Except. "They're not what you think. Not with this particular species, at any rate. They use them like hands, except. Well, they're sensitive. Dexterous. It's...kind of like if you walked around shaking hands with your genitals, really. Very responsive partners," he said, with a wicked, wicked grin.

"Right. Note t'self - find time t'visit your world sometime," he replied, laughing as he nudged Jack's arm with his elbow. "C'mon, down this way, an' we're practically there." It had been a while since he'd properly had time to party on the weekend, what with coursework and all, and the sooner they got started, the longer they could party.

"Yeah, maybe..." Jack laughed, although really...he had absolutely no intention of letting anyone visit his time, ever. His home world was war-ravaged, and his current home was the Academy satellite, which didn't allow for visitors, so. Unless he wanted to be sneaking someone around between the cameras, that was probably a no. He smiled as Scotty nudged him, and motioned him forward. "By all means, then. Lead on."

He ducked through a couple alleys - shortcuts - and within a few minutes, they'd arrived. The bar was packed, and loud, and the minute they stepped inside, Scotty grinned broadly. "You find a place t'sit, an' I'll get the drinks, yeah?" he asked, raising his voice a bit so Jack would be able to hear him over the crowd.

Jack nodded his assent, and set off to find them a table somewhere in the outskirts of the crowd, because at least there'd be a better chance of finding one there. Sure enough, me managed to hawk the table of a lovely couple just leaving, but not before giving them a nice flirt as well, before sitting down to wait for Scotty to come back.

Scotty rejoined him after a few minutes, two pints in hand, one of which he slid across the table to Jack as he sat down. "Drink up. Plenty more where that came from." He took a drink of his, before adding, "You know, you never did tell me your name."

Jack nodded in appreciation to his drink, moving to grip it and get a good look at what it was. "No, I guess I didn't, did I," Jack said. Idly. "What'd you order me, then?" he asked, almost immediately thereafter. "I have absolutely no concept of what kinds of drinks you guys have in places like this, after all."

"Guinness Classic," Scotty answered, letting Jack's avoidance of the question slide. If he wanted to be mysterious, let him be mysterious. "Supposed t'taste just like it did a couple o' centuries ago, but really, how the hell are any o' us supposed t'know, aye?"

Jack went to school for time traveling. He knew that throwing around your real name wasn't something that you should do, and well. He wasn't sure exactly how this transferred over to different worlds, so. Better safe than sorry.

He smiled in thanks to the other man. "Honestly, as long as it tastes good, who really cares, y'know?" Jack raised the glass. "Thanks for asking me out tonight, then. And for this. Definitely better than what I had planned for tonight."
