Just a few more adjustments to the transporters and I believe they'll be fully functional in regards to transdimensional beaming. I apologize if I've seemed a bit absent as of late - between catching up on the paperwork left over from the virus and working on this project I've been a bit busy. If I've missed anything, would anyone care to fill me in?

Back to work, finally. Spent a bit more time working than I meant to, but it's beyond good to be back in engineering. My apologies to anyone who might have been looking for me - I'm afraid I might have lost track of the time I was down there.

Not much else to report, things have been fairly quiet lately. Not that I'm complaining, mind - two close calls are more than enough to last me the rest of the month.

Between the captain's adjustments to the shift schedules and the mix column and everything else that's been going lately, it's been difficult to remember to take time to sit and relax. Actually, I think difficult is a bit of an understatement. If not for Liz I'd likely be driving myself up the wall, trying to take care of a thousand things all at once. Lately it seems as though the minute I get something taken care of, something else crops up, be it mechanical or personal in nature.

I almost lost two good engineers the other day. If not for Singh's ability to keep a cool head and obey orders even under pressure, I might not be here, either. [Note - recommend to the captain that Singh and Masters be given commendation for performance above and beyond the call of duty.] Singh's a good lad, if a bit jumpy at times, with a good head on his shoulders, and if he keeps it up he'll make a fine Chief Engineer someday. As for Masters, the lass willingly placed herself in danger to save a life - mine - and though she disobeyed orders to remain behind the safety perimeter, I can't fault her judgment and actions regarding the situation. I would have done the same in her place. Both are a credit to Starfleet and deserve recognition for their actions.

I've been asking a lot of my team lately, and as always, they continue to give more than I ask. It is my hope that with those of us pulling voluntary double shifts and more overtime than I have any right to order them to that we'll get caught up in the next few days. It never rains but it pours, as the saying goes - but to end on a positive note I have every faith that my team will continue to perform admirably, and I really can't ask any more than that. The end is in sight, and next week will be better.

There's been a bit of a fuss over the changes to shift scheduling, but Engineering at least is back on track. With any luck things'll settle down and get back to normal fairly quickly. If there are any questions, comments, or complaints regarding scheduling and shift changes, don't hesitate to ask, comment, or complain.

Please keep an eye on the magnetic bottles in the matter/antimatter mix column, as we've been picking up some minor fluctuations in the readings over the past week. If you notice any major changes, please inform me immediately so we can get to work taking care of that problem.

I know it's been a bit of a stressful week so far for some of us and we've been playing a lot of catch-up, but we're beginning to get caught up, so thanks to all of you who've been pulling double shifts - we couldn't have done it without you. Everybody rest up, take a couple of hours to relax and enjoy yourselves, and please do remember that just because I live in the engine room, you are not required to do so as well.

Captain, could I have a word concerning the shift schedules for engineering?

Approved locations for decorations in the engine room are:

Walkways, provided they don't interfere with getting around.
Doorways, again, as long as it doesn't interfere with the crew moving around.

Locations that are strictly off-limits:

My office.
Anything vital to the running of the ship.
Anywhere you think might interfere with running the ship.

And yes, you may wear your costume provided it doesn't have any bits sticking out, or anything hanging off it, or anything that might catch on something, get caught in something, or otherwise impede you in your duties.

Captain, your action figure is back in working order. I noticed the joints were getting a bit difficult to move, so I gave them a drop of oil to loosen them up a bit.

Mr. Fisher, I've sorted out the power drain problem on your amp. Her wiring was a bit faulty, so she was pulling more power than she needed, which was burning up the wiring even more, so she was pulling even more power... I replaced the wiring and fine-tuned her controls, and gave her circuit board a bit of tweaking.

And to the rest of the crew - those technical journals you keep pinching are now all available on the ship's computer, so I'd appreciate it if you look at them there, instead of taking mine and getting coffee stains all over them.

Now, then. I've got a wee side project I'm working on, so I'd be grateful to you all if you'll do as little damage to the ship as possible in the next week or so.

To whoever it is who keeps moving my technical journals, stop it. I keep those in one place for a reason, and it's not so you can go around moving them about when you feel like it. If they're not on my desk by 0700 tomorrow morning... Well, let's just say it won't be pretty.

That clicking noise in the air vents on Deck Three was a beetle. Still trying to figure out how the wee beastie managed to sneak on board.

The door on Deck Six that kept sticking was the result of some faulty wiring, which has been fixed, and the lights on Deck Seven have been re-timed to synchronize with the rest of the lights on the ship.

Anything else anyone needs fixed?
