Ten minutes, he'd said, and a little less than that he was beaming down into the Hub, just as he had about a week before - only this time for a very different reason. He didn't know what to make of the revelation that Jack was immortal, was going to live forever. But that wasn't what was important right now. There'd be time later to sort through that, to try coming to terms with what that meant. It wasn't that information that had spurred the decision to come down.

It was that Jack had been through so much worse than Scotty could even possibly imagine, and he'd had no idea what to say - and felt that this particular conversation was one better had in person, face-to-face. The silences wouldn't be so awkward then, when he didn't know what to say, because he'd be there, be able to hold onto Jack, to let him know that he was there even when words failed him.

He pulled away just enough to smile at Jack, then leaned in again for one more quick kiss before answering. "Lead the way, then," he said, stepping back, reaching for Jack's hand as he did so. There'd be time later for sorting through what, exactly, Jack's immortality meant for the two of them and how he was going to handle it. Right now... right now, he needed to let Jack know that he wasn't going anywhere.

Jack laughed. "There's not really all that much leading to be done," he said, with a chuckle. "We're practically there. Here..." He said, leading the other man behind his desk, squeezing his hand before dropping it and bending to grab the handle of the manhole on the floor and tug it open, revealing a ladder going down. Longer than it had been before--like Jack said, they had remodeled. He'd been claustrophobic in the old one, ever since being buried, so this one was wider, taller, big enough to fit a large bed down there rather than a cot, which Jack did readily (there was a passage from a secret doorway behind the headboard that led to one of the tunnels in the maze of the hub, no way in hell they'd gotten that mattress through the manhole).

"Go on," he said, urging Scotty down the ladder.

"You've got a room in a secret space beneath your office," Scotty said, shaking his head a bit. It sort of made sense, though. People would be bound to notice someone living in the same place for years and years and not getting any older, so a secret room in a secret workplace for a secret organization was probably the best way to go. He started down the ladder, climbing with an ease that came from years of poking around in Jefferies tubes, and turned to have a look at the room once he was all the way down.

Jack made his way down the ladder after him, smiling when he got to the bottom and gesturing around them. "Well, what d'you think? Is it up to standards?"

Truth be told, it was better than just a bunker under his office like it used to be. With a full full-sized bed and enough room to maneuver around that, a nightstand, a dresser. A door in the corner that clearly led to a private bathroom of his own. Certainly not as big or spacious as the cabins in the Enterprise, but the bed was better, and it was all Jack's. (Well. Ianto had helped with the decorating, but still.)

"I definitely like the look o' that bed," Scotty said, grinning over at Jack. And of course, he really couldn't help turning a bit pink even as he said it. "An' now that I know it's down here...." he added, a little teasingly, the implication of course being that he was going to have to make even more excuses to stop by and visit Jack.

Jack laughed slightly, stepping forward to put his hands on Scott's waist again. "Well, I have it on good authority that that bed is really pretty comfortable. It's new, though. Since we just rebuilt the hub and all. It could use some more help getting broken in, and all..." He raised an eyebrow, questioningly, propositioning the other man.

"C'mon, then," Scotty said, kissing Jack again before tugging him in the direction of the bed. He hadn't missed that 'some more help' bit, but... He wasn't going to let it bother him. He'd told Jack he was okay with it, so he wasn't going to make any fuss about it. "I'm more'n willin' t'give you all the help you want."

Jack chuckled. "Now that's what I like to hear," he said, letting himself be tugged before taking over and stepping forward, making Scotty lay back on the bed in front of him before moving to straddle him. "Y'know what?" he asked. "I think this might be the first time we're doing it the traditional way. Y'know, in a bed and all. Got any preferences on the matter...?"

He pushed himself up to kiss Jack, propping himself up on his elbows. After a moment he pulled away, and hooked a leg around one of Jack's. "As a matter o' fact," he said, before leaning up to kiss Jack again, "I have." Yet another kiss, and he pulled away again, going a bit red around the ears. "I assume you've got lube stashed away somewhere, aye?"

Jack grinned at Scotty, leaning down to press another kiss against the other man's lips, longer this time, lingering, before pulling back. "I do," he said, and true to form, he pointed to the nightstand next to the bed. "In there. Of course, I'm going to have to get up. And we're probably going to want to get undressed, if it's got anything to do with lube, yeah?"

"It can wait a minute," Scotty answered, reaching up to pull Jack back down. He was half tempted to try rolling them both over, but really, he was pretty content to stay just where he was for a few minutes. He would have to let Jack up eventually, yes, and getting rid of extraneous clothing was also somewhere in the near future, but first Scotty was going to make sure he'd kissed Jack as thoroughly as possible.

Jack didn't have a problem with going slow, he decided. He was used to multitasking, though, so while Scotty was kissing him, Jack was working his hand to find the hem of Scotty's shirt again and sticking his hand underneath to brush over the other man's skin, lightly, teasing with his touches as he used his other hand to brace him above the other man on the bed. Though truth be told, Jack wouldn't be against Scotty rolling them over. He liked when his partner took control of a situation, after all.

He did roll over, eventually, trying to pull his shirt off in the process, which didn't exactly go as planned and ended up with him sprawled on top of Jack with his shirt only half off. "That could've gone better." Pausing to push himself up, he managed to get the shirt off the rest of the way, and dropped it over the side of the bed, not really caring where it landed; once he was rid of it he bent in to kiss Jack again, setting to work undoing the buttons on Jack's shirt.

It could have gone better but Jack didn't mind, especially now that he could splay his hands over the other man's skin without having to worry about any sort of fabric barrier between them. He let Scotty concentrate on working the buttons of his shirt and instead used the opportunity to do what he would with just his hands and Scotty's shirtlessness, which. He could definitely work with.

He got all of the buttons undone only to be met with yet another layer of clothing, and decided that it would have to do for the time being, as he slipped his hands beneath the fabric of the undershirt. "You have got too many layers on," he informed Jack, leaning in to kiss him again. The worst part about all those layers was the fact that Jack was going to have to stop touching him in order to take them off.

Jack chuckled at that, moving to look down at Scotty's hands, stilled in their progress of undressing him by the t-shirt, and smiled. "Yeah, well. Keeps things interesting. You should've been around in the nineteenth century," he said, whistling. "All those layers. All those stuffy little British manners." He stilled his hands on Scotty's skin. "I can help, if a t-shirt is too much for you," he said, laughing again.

"I think I prefer my twenty-third century, if it's all the same t'you," Scotty answered, sitting back to give Jack room to get the t-shirt off. "Go on, then. I can handle takin' an engine apart an' puttin' it back together, but I've been completely foiled by that t-shirt o' yours." He tried to say that as seriously as possible, but the way he was grinning and laughing along with Jack rather ruined the effect. Maybe it was a bit strange, to be laughing and joking around so soon after the revelation that Jack was immortal, but all things considered, this was a fair sight better than the two of them sitting around moping at each other about it.

Jack chuckled, shaking his head, but he obliged, shifting to grab his shirt by the hem and tug it up and over his head, tugging his unbuttoned button-down shirt with it until he was finally bare-chested and lying underneath Scotty. "There we are," he said, with a cheeky grin. "I fixed it for you. All better?" he asked, his smile absolutely wicked.

"Much better," Scotty answered, unable to help the way he turned a bit red at that grin. Not that he was going to let a little blushing stop him. He bent in to kiss Jack's stomach, working his way up the other man's chest. "O' course," he said, in between kisses, "there's still a bit too much clothin' in the equation..." But discarding boots and trousers was going to have to wait another minute or so, as Scotty's hands were currently very much occupied exploring every inch of Jack's chest.

Jack laughed, moving to put a hand on the back of Scotty's head as he bent, laying his head back on the bed and smiling up at the ceiling as he ran his fingers through the other man's hair. "You know," he said coyly, "you're free to do something about that too, if it's bothering you so much..."

"I see how it is," Scotty laughed, pushing himself up to grin down at Jack. "Makin' me do all the work." That didn't stop him setting about getting Jack's trousers undone, though, or from undoing his own as well. "Next time you get t'do all the work." Which implied that yes, there was definitely going to be a next time and no, Scotty wasn't planning on not sticking around.

Jack grinned at Scotty from where he lay underneath him, tracing his hand down the other man's back before sliding around the area of the waistband of his trousers, teasing lightly. "If you're gonna complain that much about it, we don't have to do anything at all..." he threatened, idly, although the smirk on his face totally gave him away.

"Oh. Well. If that's the case..." he teased, pulling away to roll over to lay next to Jack, on his side. "All those layers, Jack, I'm tellin' you. Too much effort." Not that this temporary pause was going to last very long. Especially considering the way Scotty was sneaking a hand down toward Jack's waist.

"Hey!" Jack protested, propping himself up on an elbow to follow Scotty as he rolled next to him. "Too much effort? For this?" he asked, motioning down at his body, cockily. He was gorgeous, and he knew it. He flopped back down dramatically. "Scotty, what am I to do with you, if a pair of trousers is too much for you to handle?"

"You might try takin' 'em off," Scotty answered, as seriously as he could manage, though he was already setting to work getting that done himself. "I'm teasin'," he added, as if that weren't perfectly clear, and leaned in for yet another kiss. "You're well worth the effort."
