Jack laughed. "There's not really all that much leading to be done," he said, with a chuckle. "We're practically there. Here..." He said, leading the other man behind his desk, squeezing his hand before dropping it and bending to grab the handle of the manhole on the floor and tug it open, revealing a ladder going down. Longer than it had been before--like Jack said, they had remodeled. He'd been claustrophobic in the old one, ever since being buried, so this one was wider, taller, big enough to fit a large bed down there rather than a cot, which Jack did readily (there was a passage from a secret doorway behind the headboard that led to one of the tunnels in the maze of the hub, no way in hell they'd gotten that mattress through the manhole).

"Go on," he said, urging Scotty down the ladder.
