He smiled when Liz laid her head in his lap, shifting a bit so he could lean on hand, stroking her hair with the other for a moment before reaching for her hand. The two of them hadn't discussed the possibility of kids of their own in a while; back on the Enterprise, the idea had just been strange. He'd been certain that he'd have absolutely no idea what to do as far as kids were concerned. Looking after Will was quickly banishing those doubts.

Still, now wasn't exactly the best time to bring the topic up; he was still keeping an eye on Will, although the boy seemed to have gone back to pretending to be a frog, and was doing an admirable job of sticking close by. "You know, love, I've been thinkin'..." He didn't get much farther than that before Will slipped in the middle of a froggy-bounce and fell. Monty winced, and shifted again, preparing to get up and go brush him off or commiserate over whatever small injuries might have been had, but Will just picked himself up and kept right on bouncing around like nothing had happened.
