"I think I prefer my twenty-third century, if it's all the same t'you," Scotty answered, sitting back to give Jack room to get the t-shirt off. "Go on, then. I can handle takin' an engine apart an' puttin' it back together, but I've been completely foiled by that t-shirt o' yours." He tried to say that as seriously as possible, but the way he was grinning and laughing along with Jack rather ruined the effect. Maybe it was a bit strange, to be laughing and joking around so soon after the revelation that Jack was immortal, but all things considered, this was a fair sight better than the two of them sitting around moping at each other about it.
