[for Chris]

He was a bit nervous. Which was silly, because he really shouldn't be nervous, because for God's sake, it was just Chris, and they'd already had a couple dates, sort of, and at this rate he thought he was never going to be not nervous before a date with her. He wasn't even really sure why he was so nervous. Talking to her hadn't been this big a deal before they'd started dating, but for some reason, now that they were dating, he couldn't seem to get through a conversation with her without fidgeting and blushing and more or less feeling like he was a teenager all over again.

So this time, at least, he'd chosen a location for a date that was on his turf, so to speak. They'd already had dinner and movie in Chris's quarters, but his quarters were out of the question until he could manage to clean up a bit. That pretty much just left the engine room, and while it wasn't really the most conventional location for a date, it was somewhere he'd feel comfortable. Not that he didn't feel comfortable in Chris's quarters, but he was familiar with the engine room, and he hoped that familiarity would help him not turn into such a stammering idiot around Chris.

"Course it is," she retorted cheekily. "I was the one doing the thinking."

Christine laughed, but otherwise kept silent then as she led him to her quarters. She found herself in a bout of nerves around the time she was punching in the code for her door, but quickly fought them off. This was going to go well, because she said so. And because it was him and everything with him was perfect, even if it didn't go according to plan.

As her door slid open, she turned around to grab his other hand, backing inside and tugging him along with her.

After making sure the door closed, she ordered the lights on to fifty percent, just bright enough they could see what they were doing, but not glaringly bright. It was helping to set the mood.

Then she kissed him, soft and short for right now. "You okay?" she asked as she pulled back, sneaking her arms around him.

"I'm okay." She gave a nod, then sneaked another kiss, smiling. "Actually, I'm quite a bit better than okay right now."

Wrapping her arms around Montgomery's neck, she quietly hummed in contentment. Yes, she was definitely a fan of him embrace. And of these thorough kisses, which was was delighting in returning.

After a long, lovely moment, Christine eased out of the kiss, smiling a bit mischeviously as she stepped back. She took his hands again, saying, "Come on, before we get carried away again," as she started to guide him toward her bedroom. It wasn't the first time she'd done this, oddly. But it would hopefully be the less awkward time.

"No, Montgomery, I..." Laughing a little, she shook her head. "I really don't mind. But if you do, we don't have to."

"So you're sure now?" She was pausing in her doorway, in a symbolic sort of way.

Okay, that would do. Christine leaned in to kiss him tenderly again before pulling back, letting go of his hands at her bedside.

His little laugh made her laugh, too, as she snaked her arms around his neck and happily kissed him back, stepping close to him.

Christine could definitely get in line with this, but now that they were alone, she let her hands wander a bit more, down his arms and then his sides. She fingered the hem of his shirt for a moment before tugging it upwards, intending to encourage him to take it off.

She smiled reassuringly at him before she leaned in to kiss him again, running her hands up his bare chest to settle on his shoulders. She didn't want to push things too hard, but, really, hormones are getting in the way of thinking.
